Five Minute Nose JobWhat is Injection Rhinoplasty?
Who is a candidate?Anyone with a mild to moderate nasal hump, irregularity or deviation who does not desire a change A new, more balanced look to your face may enhance your appearance and self confidence but it won't necessarily change your looks to match your ideal or cause other people to treat you differently. The best candidates for Rhinoplasty are people who are looking for improvement, not perfection, in the way they look. If you are physically healthy, psychologically stable, and realistic in your expectations, you may be a good candidate. What is recovery like? Most patients return to work on the same day as the procedure. The results are immediate. There is no significant swelling or pain. Dr. Williams does recommend that sunglasses or heavy eyeglasses be avoided for two weeks after the procedure, as the filler material becomes integrated into the skin of the nose. Tell me about the resultsThe injectable filler used in non-surgical rhinoplasty is injected in small amounts and in precise locations so that there is total control over the shape and contours created by the procedure. During the procedure you will be asked to look at your nose and provide feedback, meaning that you have total control over the end result. The results are immediate and last from eight months to two years, depending on the type of filler that is used. Because the results are relatively temporary, adjustments can be made as your face changes over time and you always retain a natural look.
Tell me about the safety of the procedureNon-surgical rhinoplasty avoids the risks of surgery and has no effect on nasal breathing since it involves only injection into the skin. The procedure is much more precise than surgical rhinoplasty, so more detailed adjustments to nasal contour are possible. During the procedure, you are fully awake. You hold a mirror and you are in complete control of the procedure's results. The Non Surgical Nose Job procedure does not cause nosebleeds or persistent swelling. The procedure is temporary and there are no long term scarring complications. With traditional rhinoplasty, which is often done under general anesthetic, incisions are made in the nostrils or base of the nose, allowing the surgeon to access and reshape the cartilage and inner bone. Patients must wear a nasal splint for a week after the procedure and it can take up to six months for swelling to go down completely and the nose's new shape to be apparent. Tell me about the procedureThe original creator of this procedure, Dr. Steven Mulholland from Toronto, Canada, began experimenting with fillers after injecting patients' noses with saline to demonstrate to them what a real nose job might look like. "I would take a little bit of saline and inject it into the bridge so people could live with it for a few hours and see if they liked it," he says. The results from using normal saline lasted about a day before disappearing. Mulholland was using collagen fillers like Restylane® to build up patients' chins and cheekbones, so he decided to use collagen fillers on patients' noses for a longer-term fix, and since then his technique has been used by hundreds of plastic surgeons internationally. What are the costs of the procedure? When it comes to price, the "five-minute nose job" is cheaper than the average nose job, which tends to run between $4,000 and $8,000. It really depends on the amount of injection that you are going to put in and according to the creator of this procedure, the typical five-minute nose job requires about two (2) CCs of a long acting hyullonaic filler. The procedure runs about $1,500 while a longer-term filler costs up to $2,000 more. "It's still about half the price (of traditional rhinoplasty)," Mulholland says. For our patients, we recommend the non-surgical nose correction using long acting injectable soft tissue fillers such as Radiesse®. The procedure is extremely versatile and can build up the bridge of your nose, or conceal a bumps. It can also straighten your profile, bring balance and asymmetry to your face, or correct defects and shape the nose tip. And with this injectable filler, our patients don't have to wait to see results, they are immediate and long-lasting. In fact, published independent studies show that a typical Radiesse® treatment for non-surgical rhinoplasty or correcting post-rhinoplasty defects lasts approximately 18 months to two years, with an occasional touch up recommended. At OC Aesthetics we like to describe this procedure as a "nice, little quick fix" but the results can be quite dramatic.

in the size of their nose is a candidate for Injection Rhinoplasty, also known as the Five (5) Minute Nose Job. This procedure is a great option for patients who have a flattened nasal bridge (upper dorsum) and/or a broad, poorly defined nasal tip and dorsum. The procedure improves the definition of the nose, and increases the height of the nasal bridge, resulting in a much improved profile.
